    Shmikko’s Salamanca Market stall is the place to find unique shard jewellery, designed and handcrafted in Tasmania by Cathy Joyce. Shards of vintage crockery are recycled into exquisite necklace pendants, brooches and earrings. Each piece of jewellery is a one-of-a-kind artisan creation, handmade from broken china pieces wrapped in copper foil and soldered. Earring wires are sterling silver. The copper foil technique was made popular in the early 1900s by L.C. Tiffany’s intricately detailed lampshades.
